The 26mm thick Groovetracer acrylic platter carries more mass than any other acrylic platter available on the market today for the Rega turntable.
It is important to note that acrylic weighs only half as much as glass which means it was necessary to manufacture our platter from 28mm thick acrylic.
Delrin® is considered the material of choice for record platters by many of today’s high end turntable manufacturers. There are several reasons for this but the primary consideration is......................
The Groovetracer® counterweight is designed to fit all Rega tonearms and tonearms with 1/2" (12.9mm) endstub. It will balance cartridges from 5-15 grams in mass making it the most versatile counterweight available.
There are three different subplatter models now being offered by
Groovetracer®. Each model is distinguished from the other by at least one important feature. They are all built utilizing the finest materials, machined using the same tight tolerances, and assembled with the greatest care in order to provide an increased level of performance.
The Groovetracer® RP6 reference subplatter assembly not only features a main hub precision machined from solid billet aluminum, but in addition, a dampening disc is fixed to the bottom of the aluminum hub to eliminate any micro vibration or ringing between the three subplatter and glass platter contact points.
The Groovetracer® record weight is precision machined from a solid billet of stainless steel. The concentrated mass couples the record directly to the platter and eliminates stylus chatter to provide tighter bass and an overall increase in resolution.
The mass (1 pound/450gms) of the stainless steel record weight provides critical dampening and will also tame mild record warps.
